The Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel, a picturesque building along the historic downtown Savannah, Georgia, riverfront, has been transformed over the past year.
With modern upgrades, new conveniences added to guestrooms, a refreshed restaurant and bar, and upgraded meeting spaces, the hotel aimed to add a little Southern charm to its decor.
The upgrades didn’t stop there.
Completing in Mid-May of this year, Joyner Electric and Security, Inc. remodeled the lighting while the hotel remained in operation.
Joyner Electric and Security’s upgrades included retrofitting or replacing existing incandescent, fluorescent, and metal halide fixtures with new, highly efficient LED fixtures.
To do this, the hotel rented a ReachMaster Falcon FS95 from Sunbelt Rentals. Using the Falcon for a week, Joyner was able to gain access to fixtures up to 95 ft. in the air, since the atrium of the hotel is eight stories tall.
“The lift was rented from Sunbelt to access the third floor ceiling inside the atrium at the Savannah Riverfront Marriott,” says Zack Mitchell, project lead and electrician at Joyner Electric and Security.
“This lift will reach up to 90 ft. off the ground and drive through a man-door. It was the first time we used a lift of this type, but it worked great. We will definitely use one again if we need to get to high locations inside a building.”
The ReachMaster Falcon FS95 offers a substantial work height combined with limited access and low surface pressure. It comes standard with an auto safety and stability system, 20-ft double jib for hard-to-reach areas, and a multi-positioning outrigger system.
