When to Call an Electrician

It’s important to know when to call an electrician. Here are some common situations that require professional electrical services.

Electrical Problems

If you have frequent power outages, flickering lights, or dimming appliances, these could indicate a problem with your electrical panel, wiring, or circuits. An electrician can inspect and upgrade your electrical system to ensure safety and efficiency.

Electrical Warning Signs

You notice sparks, burning smells, or hot outlets. These are signs of overheating, or possible electrical fires which can cause serious damage to your property and pose a fire hazard. An electrician can repair or replace any faulty components and install smoke detectors for extra protection.

Install New Fixtures, Switches, & Outlets

You want to install new lighting, fans, outlets, or switches. These tasks may seem like simple tasks, but they involve working with wires and connections that can be tricky and even risky. An electrician can install these fixtures correctly and according to current building code, as well as advise you on the best options for your needs and budget.

Renovations or Remodels

You are planning a renovation or addition. Any major changes to your home or business require electrical permits and inspections to ensure compliance with local and national standards. An electrician can help you design and execute your project safely and efficiently, as well as coordinate with other contractors, power companies, and your county or city building & inspections departing.

Electrical Inspection

You need an electrical inspection. Whether you are buying or selling a property, or just want to check the condition of your electrical system, an electrician can perform a thorough inspection and provide you with a detailed report and recommendations.

Get Power Turned Back On

In cases where the property has been vacant or without power for an extended period of time, the power company will not reconnect power until an electrician has made repairs to bring up to current electrical code.  A final inspection by the county or city inspections department will be required as well.  An electrician should be able to pull permits and schedule inspections to get your power turned back on.

Honestly, we tried far too many electrical companies when we first purchased in Savannah. Finally we found the ONE. As designers/builders in other cities, it was imperative to find premium electricians that we and our clients could rely on and have peace of mind in the quality of work and service. Please look no further….we can’t praise Joyner (Chase specifically) enough!!!!
